PLAYING WITH THE ALPHABET III

Continuing with the alphabet then...
Since F got hurt and was admitted in GH , " I " ll start the question with " J " :D

------
J was an usher at K's funeral and was heavily involved in politics, until he and several other students held the Board of Directors of his college (which included K's father) hostage and was suspended. While he was suspended, he became more and more involved with a particular movement until his mother sent him to Los Angeles because the FBI told her that he would die within a year if he remained with the movement. Today, we know J for very different reasons.

L was an event. After L, K's house was bombed. However, L proved a watershed in American history and made M a household name across the globe, since she was the reason L happened.

K was later assassinated by N, who was captured in London, two months after he killed K. N was obsessed with the country P (which has since gained independence and changed its name), because the nature of its regime appealed to his ideals and this was his intended destination when he went on the run after killing K. During N's trial, his lawyer convinced him to take a polygraph test but this backfired, since it revealed that he had actually killed K.

I, of course, want J, K, L, M, N and P :)

PLAYING WITH THE ALPHABET - II

An apology for the length of the question, but I found some of the stuff really interesting. I do promise you that this is the longest question of the VENUIZ.
------
X is a movie, whose central idea has been borrowed from the book shown below. The book (written by Y) shares its name with the movie.

X's screenplay was written by a man who wrote under many names. Though he had read the original novel, the director (Z) told him to forget it completely while writing the screenplay. Along with X, there were three other movies directed by Z which were based on books by Y.

A (who was Russian-American) played a Freudian analyst in B, a movie directed by Z. B was one of 3 films to be made as a partnership between producer W and director Z. There was friction between the two during the making of B and one of the main causes of this friction was Salvador Dali, who was hired to conceive scenes of mental delusion. A picture of the producer W:

A is widely regarded to be one of the greatest actors of the 20th century, although he was mainly a stage actor. A's uncle, C, is known around the world as one of the greatest short story writers of all time.

C lends his name to a literary device D, which is the stark opposite of another literary device E. E can be represented as follows:

Do the needful and give me X, Y, Z, W, A, B, C, D and E!

PLAYING WITH THE ALPHABET - I

X is a famous architect, who is known for designing Y. However, when Y was being constructed, he had a major falling-out with a minister for escalating costs and he was removed from the job. He was not invited to its opening and his name wasn't mentioned at the ceremony either.

Y is often lit up in special colors to promote a cause, celebrate an event or showcase a work of art. The person in charge of this coloring has said "We're not colouring in Y, we're actually kind of taking the art of Y and raising it to a different level".

An architectural plan of Y:

X attended Z's school in Arizona. Z is also a well-known architect. One of his most famous conceptions (A) is shown below. This simple-looking building (from the outside) is regarded as one of the greatest feats of 20th century architecture and it took Z worked for more than 15 years on its design.

Stamp of Z, with A in the background:

Mr. OR Mrs. ???

X (picture below) is best known as one half of a reclusive duo. X supposedly began making small public appearances dressed as a woman. Further reports said that he took female hormones and was in the process of getting a sex change. A penchant for cross-dressing further fuelled these rumours, but no one knows whether he went ahead with the sex change or not. Who?

TODAY ' S BREAKFAST !!!!

I realise this is incredibly Google-able, but I think it's still cool enough to merit a question!
-----
X is a fictitious religion, which has been described in the book Y. X was established by the bearer of the name along with Earl McCabe, his partner in ruling the island of San Lorenzo, when all the duo's efforts to raise the standard of living on the island failed, as a means to help the poor islanders escape their miserable reality by practicing a simple religion.

It is based on the concept of foma, which are defined as harmless untruths. The primary tenet of X is to "Live by the foma that make you brave and kind and healthy and happy." The foundation of X is that all religion, including X and all its texts, is formed entirely of lies; however, one who believes and adheres to these lies will at least have peace of mind, and perhaps live a good life.

Give me X, Y and the author of Y.

SHORT AND SWEET ........

An old hermit walked around the village and the area day and night, and even in daylight still carried a lit lantern. One day the villagers had enough curiosity to ask him "Sir, why do you carry your lantern lit in daylight?" He said, "Because I'm searching for an honest man."

This is the myth behind a tarot card figure. How does one know this hermit better in pop culture?

A,W,X,Y,Z.........

'The X Group' is a Swiss company and watch manufacturer. In the late 1980's, the CEO of X (let's call him Y) began developing an idea for a new car. He believed that the automotive industry had ignored a sector of potential customers who wanted a small and stylish city car. This idea soon became known as the "X mobile"

While design of the car was proceeding Y feared existing automobile manufacturers would feel threatened by the X mobile, thus rather than directly competing he preferred to cooperate with another company in the automotive industry. Y approached several manufacturers and on July 3, 1991 he reached an agreement with Z to share development of the new project.

However, in 1993, Z appointed a new CEO, who sought immediate termination of this project with X, because Z had been working on its own 'economy' car and he considered it a better prospect than the X mobile.

Y then approached plenty of other automobile companies and after being rebuffed by plenty of them, he finally reached an agreement with W to manufacture the X mobile. In 1998, W bought out X and today, we know the car as the A.

Give me X, Z, W, A and Y.

BET ... YARUKKU?? YEDHUKKU??

Recently, X lost a bet to Y. The bet was made on motorsport and the condition of the bet was that the loser would shave his legs, don a skirt and make up and then serve as an air hostess for one flight on a particular airline, performing all the tasks a regular air hostess would. On losing the bet, X, being a good sport, agreed to stick to the condition and carry out his end of the bargain.

Incidentally, Y worked as a financial controller for one of X's companies in the late 80's.

Tell me who these two gentlemen are and what they bet on.

"FOOTBALL POLA VARUMA ....."

This is a tribute to a great footballer X, which you will find outside Z's stadium, A.

This is a picture of X and his famous strike partner, Y.

This is A, the stadium of Z, a club X played for.

Today, X's ashes are buried beneath the centre circle of A.

X and Y linked up very well together. In an FA Cup final where Y scored a hatrick, X stunned everyone with his dribbling. Today, this final is remembered as the 'X final'. In the dressing room after the game, X drank champagne from the Cup, the first time in his life that he had knowingly consumed alcohol.

X, Y, Z and A?

TOLEDO...

This is a little bit complicated, but very easy and very Googlable, so try and refrain.  I want X, Y, Z, A, B and C.

---

This book of short stories was written by Del James. It features an intro by X, who is the lead singer of Y. It includes the story 'Without You', which inspired B, a song by Y.

A, B and C are three songs which appear on the double-album Z by Y. Their music videos form a trilogy of sorts which X claims was inspired by the book, although fans often argue about the order of the songs in this trilogy. This trilogy has been called the Illusions Trilogy by X.

Additionally, B and C are two of the most expensive music videos ever made. The production cost for C's video was over 4 million dollars and the video was widely panned when it first came out for being too extravagant - many critics took this as a sign of X's growing ego.

X,Y,Z....

It is a common myth that X adapted Y's ideas to form his ideology and that he dedicated his most important work, Z, to Y. This is a common misconception which arose because of a letter from Y to Edward Aveling (who later became the lover of X's daughter, Eleanor) Aveling had written to Y about wanting to dedicate his book to him, but Y declined and Y's response became mixed with X's papers when Eleanor inherited her father's papers.

However, it is true that X respected Y's ideas greatly. X read Y's magnum opus and recognized its value in supporting his theory of class struggle. He even sent Y a personally inscribed copy of Z in 1873.

ENNA VACHU COMEDY KEEMEDY PANNALIYE ???

I have two videos here. The second one is from the Johnny Carson show and the first one is an updated version of the second, which first made its rounds around 2003. Apart from poking fun at presidents of the US, both of them are based on and pay tribute to a legendary comic routine. Without actually going on to any of the Youtube pages, can you tell me the name of the original act and the guys who first performed it?

INDIA ........

X is the son of the Hindu Raja of the Kingdom of Bundelkund in India, and also a descendant of the Muslim Sultan Fateh Ali Tipu of the Kingdom of Mysore in India. He was deeply antagonistic to the British Empire, due to its conquest of India. After the bloody Indian Rebellion of 1857, one of the most devastating wars of the Victorian Era, in which he lost his family and his kingdom, he devoted himself to scientific research and developed an advanced submarine, the Y. X and Y?

JAPAN'IN "X" PATRI ORU KADHAI ....

Just tell me the sport being described below.

Bicycle racing in Japan started in 1898, and on that evening, "gaudy ladies from the red-light quarters came together to the racing site and presented a grand spectacle which was more impressive than the competition itself". X is a Japanese social institution which compares most closely with greyhound racing in the west and is probably is the cheapest form of entertainment you can find in Japan. Five minutes before the start of each race the music starts. The music increases in volume and the lights around the 'fighting gate' come on - a blaze of neon! Out come the riders - they look like extras from a Japanese cartoon - bright colours and lots of padding. They start slowly with little jockeying for position until the pacer goes off and then all hell breaks loose. The races typically require photo finishes and after the finish the old men watch the TV screens intently to see if they've won while the riders circle the track once and ride back in through the 'fighting gate' to their little hotel.

3) X?

This is a famous flag adopted by X.

Someone once remarked about X :
[W]hen you see, you know... those of you who are watching certain news channels on which I'm not very popular — and you see folks waving ______ around... let me just remind them that I am happy to have a serious conversation about how we are going to cut our health care costs down over the long term, how we're going to stabilize Social Security...

...We are going to have to tighten our belts, but we're going to have to do it in an intelligent way. And we've got to make sure that the people who are helped are working American families, and we're not suddenly saying that the way to do this is to eliminate programs that help ordinary people and give more tax cuts to the wealthy. We tried that formula for eight years. It did not work. And I don't intend to go back to it.

HOLLYWOOD

It was supposed to be titled Brazzaville, but that never worked out and the latest news is that Bollywood film maker Rajeev Nath will be making it, set in a restaurant in southern India against a backdrop of the ethnic troubles in Sri Lanka. It's a sequel that most film makers have stayed away from.

The original was quite a success, about whom someone once said "If you're going to colorize ____, why not put arms on the Venus de Milo?"

Tell me the original.
